…Obaseki, Ize Iyamu, others know fate today
The tussle and jostle for supremacy in Edo state would finally come to a halt today as the long anticipated election holds.
The election which has commenced about few hours ago will determine the leadership fate of Godwin Obaseki of Peoples Democractic Party (PDP) who is also the incumbent Governor, Ize-Iyamu of All Progressives Congress (APC), Mabel Akomu Oboh of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Iboi Lucky Emmanuel of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Idehen Osagie Lucky of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Igbineweka Osamuede of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Areloegbe Amos Osalumese of the Action Peoples Party (APP), Osifo Uhun-Ekpenma Isaiah of Labour Party (LP),Agol Ebun Tracy of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Ozono Stevie Nash of National Rescue Movement (NRM), Obayangbon Felix Izekor of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Osagionare Jones of Young Progressive Party (YPP), and Akhalamhe Amiemenoghena of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) in the governorship race.
StewardshipTV gathered that the election has been fair since commencement with little compliance to social distancing rule as INEC insists on not allowing voters without nose masks to vote.
It was also gathered that Obaseki of the People’s Democratic Party and wife as well as Ize Iyamu Ozagie of the All Progressives Congress alongside some other voters have cast their votes.
As the major contenders remain Obaseki of PDP and Ize-Iyamu of APC, those in the PDP camp are resolute towards laying to the grave influence of godfatherism in the state while those of the APC believe that Ize-Iyamu is the best choice for the position.
It would be recalled that the incumbent Governor, Obaseki decamped to the People’s Democratic Party to contest after being denied the party’s ticket due to his fall out with the immediate past National Chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomole.
However Security operatives are fully on ground to ensure a violence free election with Press men and other bodies monitoring the election process.
