Nigeria Union of Journalist NUJ, Ondo State Chapter has urge government at all levels to desist from imposing harsh economic policies on the masses across length and breath of the country.
It joined other forces including NUJ NEC, NLC NEC and other organized voices to condemn the recent hike in fuel price and tariff, describing it as highly insensitive, anti people and workers policies.
According to the communiqué issued at the monthly Congress held on Thursday at the Press Centre, Akure, the union harp on best global standard practices, professional conduct among members at all times and particularly relating to the forthcoming Ondo governorship election.
The Union however urges INEC, Security agencies and other stakeholders to conduct fair, credible and acceptable governorship election in Ondo state as demonstrated recently in Edo state governorship election.
Other related developmental issues including the Taskforce against Quackery and counterfeit journalist got attention and considerations as two more members, Tola Gbadamosi and Omobomi Oguntolu were commissioned into the taskforce for more effective results.
The extensively deliberated congress has Tola Gbadamosi (Owena Press), Isaac Afolabi (FRCN Positive FM), Omolayo Monehin (LG Information) as communiqué drafting committee.
